The Graduate Intern plays a vital role in helping the Principal, Director of Studies, and Program Coordinator to support programs, events, and more at Hereford. The Intern will work closely with the above administrative team as well as the Hereford Student Senate.
Mario (they/he) is from Newport News, Virginia and a 1st generation college student. They received their bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Leadership & African-American and African Studies from the University of Virginia (BA ’22). During their undergraduate years Mario participated in many student organizations ranging from Class Council to becoming a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. His participation in these student organizations sparked his interest in student affairs, leading him to start his Master of Education at UVA’s School of Education and Human Development (M.Ed. ’23). Mario is currently serving as Hereford’s Graduate Assistant as a part of his program. In their free time, Mario enjoys going to the cinema, trying new restaurants, and exploring Charlottesville’s wineries.
